As the title suggests, "Thirteen Rolex Military Submariners of Grahame Fowler" showcases fantastic historic watches by Rolex that every collector, including myself, would love to own.
In recent times, prices for these watches have skyrocketed, often exceeding £100,000. Many collectors purchased them when the true value was not widely recognized, and others likely inherited them. I know someone who bought a few in the 1990s for around £10,000 each, and he has built a nice collection.
These watches were made for the Ministry of Defence, and during the 1950s, Rolex was the leading brand for dive watches. It was a no-brainer for them to supply divers in World War II with a military Submariner. The military version was designed to differ from the commercial Submariner, which is why it features fixed spring bars and a NATO strap instead of the steel Oyster bracelet. This model was produced in limited numbers and has earned its place in the history of the finest military collectible watches ever made. Enjoy the video!
