Breitling Super Avenger Black Steel Ref: M13370
I had the Breitling Super Avenger M13370 in my collection for a short while. This watch features a striking black steel and titanium design; it’s quite large at 48.4mm, including the crown, yet surprisingly lightweight. In my opinion, the stainless steel version is the most popular, but the Super Avenger has various iterations to choose from.
The movement is a Breitling 13, based on the ETA Valjoux 7750, and it boasts a power reserve of 48 hours, along with chronograph and date functions. It's water-resistant up to 300 meters and features a unidirectional bezel. The titanium model comes with a Breitling rubber strap, making it less noticeable on the wrist in terms of weight compared to the stainless steel versions with metal bracelets.
While I do appreciate the aesthetics of black steel watches, they don't hold up well against minor scuffs and scratches that can be difficult to polish out. Overall, if the black steel look is what you’re after, this watch offers good value for your money.
