Hands on With Tag Heuer Grand Carrera Wav511A, the grand Carrera’s are the higher end of the Tag Carrera range. I had a few grand Carrera’s in the past and they can be very pricey watches indeed. This watch model WAV511A is the simpler version of grand carrera calibre 6 movement with second counter at 6 o clock. case size is 41mm, water resistant to 100m so not a dive watch, the date window at 3 o clock, the glass is anti -glare sapphire crystal to stop sun reflection when reading the time of sunny days, a overall blend of polished and brushed stainless steel.
The bracelet is stainless steel with a clasp style closer with Tag Logo, this is the updated version bracelet for the carrera range. I always prefer brushed steel watches they wear well over time and seem to pick up less marks on the bracelet.
The carrera has a nice see through caseback so you can have a peek at the movement. The watch is chronometer tested for time keeping as most Swiss watches are to be fair. The Tag is a great bit of kit always great value for money plus loads of racing heritage to boot, all most everyone has had a Tag Heuer for a first watch or owned one at some point. I moved on fast from Tag Heuer once I found the love for the Rolex brand!!
