As the title says “Speedy Tuesday” this one of the many Limited Editions Omega made which is probably in the 1000s, The Moonwatch has always been a favorite of mine does not get much better in conversation as “The first watch worn on the Moon.” This particular model the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Apollo II 35th Anniversary was made around 2004 and limited to 3500 pieces and is the standard moonwatch 42mm with the hesalite crystal and Calibre 1861 movement which is slight update of the 861 movement that they put in the original moonwatch.
The apollo II is a cracking looking piece which I think will be a future collector’s “got to have piece”, as the watch has some very nice touches that most speedy fans will like:
firstly the Panda Dial silver dial black subdials always goes down well in any watch.
2nd. The applied Metal Omega Logo as the first pre moon watches that date pre 1969 hence “pre moon” had the applied logo then after the dials all made with the painted logo in white. The caseback not to shabby either all together a very nice piece that is modern with a few twists from the old Moonwatch.
3rd Th red writing on the landing 20 July 1969 all in all works well.
The apollo Limited edition were made every 5 years from the first moon landing on 20 July 1969 to commemorate the landing and I think this definitely one to have in the apollo II editions. To be fair all moonwatch are great pieces in general well respected watches that loved by millions if you like winding them up every 48 hours. If you get the chance to purchase one do not hesitate in purchasing there getting harder to find.
How to Service The 234- Component Cal 1861 SpeedMaster
As the title says Hodinkee have been inside The Omega Speedmaster at Manfredi Jewels and getting all the low down on how to service a Speedmaster Cal 1861 which they use in plenty of there watches. Very articulate job servicing watches need steady hands and good eyes!!
Happy New Year 2016 to all and I hope it brings you joy and happiness!
This is another great watch by Omega the Seamaster Professional Chronograph black dial version has always been one of my favorite pieces casing size is 41.5mm which is just thicker in depth from the original bond non chrono watch but with a in house chronograph 1164 automatic movement. This has 2 version blue dial blue bezel like the bond watch which has been around years and the black dial black bezel which i think started around 2006 which i prefer. This particular model has not long been phased out by Omega for a newer ceramic bezel 44mm version with a new co axial movement and date function. But I prefer the older version as size and originality and simplicity overall cracking everyday watch which can be bought at reasonable price used.
This a short video from Hodinkee of a review off all the watches 2014
Sell my watch for cash
This is a good article as Esa and #Omega joined forces to create a new #Moonwatch the Omega Speedmaster Skywalker X-33 never knew a new version was in such popular demand, As for many years the first watch worn on the moon was the Omega #speedmaster manual wind in 1969 was the official one on the historic landing all thou all the astronauts had #Rolex Gmtmaster 2 as well which did spark another debate. Any how a nice new piece for future astronauts.

A small little wonder from Jlc is a nice piece of kit, this is the jaeger-lecoultre reverso is one of there very very popular watches which they manufacture in men’s plus ladies, the ladies just smaller versions of the men’s but very nice.
You basically flip the watch hence the name reverso but a lot of the new versions have dual dialone each side like a day and night watch if you like, but this a older model just has a polished stainless steel case back so looks like a bracelet on the wrist. They have a good long history in Swiss watch making and make fine time pieces.

This was one on the misses departed watches she wore it for around 2 years then fell out with the watch. Rolex Yachtmaster midsize model 168622 was introduced in 1994 which never had any changes till 2012 where they then gave a revamp as by this time they pretty much modernized the full Rolex range.
They did made a variety of versions gold with steel etc….. size wise its 35mm with the crown has a stunning sparkling silver dial with the date function at 3 o clock. A very sporty looking time piece with a platinum bezel insert which i only found out recently, always thought the full bezel was platinum for years but its just a bezel insert.
I have owned a few in the past of the full size version but it never floated my boat to be truthful the watch is water resistant to 100 meters and comes on a nice Rolex oyster bracelet all stainless steel bar the bezel insert, not a cheap watch to buy either in my opinion. But stunning watch for a lady of gent as is a unisex time piece.
